Has your day been good? I think that overall, most of us can claim to have good days. I also know, through my own experience, that how the day turns out is due mostly to how we act and react to any given situation. As a believer in Jesus, I know I should act and react like Him. As a human,I realize this is not always the first thing I do when I choose to act or react, to whatever the situation is at hand. For example, people who choose to drive recklessly get under my last nerve and cause me to act and react, and it is not the way Jesus would. Before you act and/or react to the last statement because I'm a pastor and, in your opinion, shouldn't act or react in that fashion, let me be more like Jesus and say,"He who is without sin, Let him cast the first stone." I think we have all been there in the situation, and mutter to ourselves,"But Jesus doesn't know what I'm going through, what I am feeling, where I have been, or what I've been doing." He does. Jesus knows it all.
Hebrews chapter 4 speaks of our Savior who identifies with us as a human also, because He came to this Earth as a human. Fully human and Fully God, He lived this life just as we do and experienced all that we do on a daily basis. Verse 15 says,"For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in ALL things as we are, YET without sin." The difference between Jesus and us is as simple as this. He lived the life we live now as human beings, but He did so without sin!! Can you imagine Jesus acting/reacting the way you did to that situation? That reckless driver? That job? That boss? That person who gets on your LAST nerve?
The good news is that while Jesus wouldn't act/react like the majority of us would, we can choose to act/react like He would have us. Aren't we supposed to become more like Him, and LOVE in His name all people we come in contact with? Are we not supposed to reflect Jesus in all we do as believers? We do not do this in our own power, but in His strength, His love shining thru us!! Let's work on our reflection, and let others see Jesus thru our love for Him!!
